A-PREP Orientation
To assist potential applicants and familiarize them with the physical testing procedures, our Fitness Unit host A-PREP Orientations. This orientation is a practical familiarization of the layout for the testing and will provide important information, helpful tips, and suggestions to achieve success.
The Alberta Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police Officers (A-PREP) is the provincial standard used to determine the physical suitability of applicants. The A-PREP consists of two parts – a Pursuit Restraint Circuit that simulates a foot chase and an aerobic shuttle run, also known as the Léger.
During the orientation, attendees will be able to conduct trial runs on the Pursuit Restraint Circuit, the Léger and the equipment used for testing. Any scores generated in this orientation session will not have any impact on an applicant’s formal A-PREP test scores.
To be eligible to participate in any A-PREP Orientation, you are required to bring the following medical clearance form, completed and signed by a physician. To download the form please click here.
