The Calgary Police Service, in collaboration with the Calgary Police Youth Foundation, offers several programs for high school students interested in learning more about leadership, community safety and the diverse roles within policing.

These experiences will help you build confidence, teamwork and communication skills, that will serve you well in any path you choose.

While you’re still in high school, you can start building a foundation for a strong, competitive application:

  • Adhere to the law

Minimum requirements to apply to become a police officer:

  • 18 years of age
  • Class 5 driver’s licence (non-GDL)
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
  • Ability to pass an Enhanced Security Clearance
