The information required for submission of your application for the position of Police Officer to the Calgary Police Service (CPS) is extensive. Please ensure you allow sufficient time to diligently complete your application. Application packages with incomplete or missing information will not be considered until all required documentation is provided. We have included this helpful checklist to ensure your application is complete.

It will take a minimum of nine months to complete the entire recruiting process. As such, you must be mentally and physically ready to complete each step of the process before you apply. We offer several applicant resources to help potential applicants determine their readiness.

Applications are valid for one year from the date of submission. Those who have been out of the selection process beyond this period must submit a new application. Applicants may be deferred, without appeal at any stage of the selection process, based on competitiveness. In some cases, permanent disqualification from reapplication may occur.
