Pathways to Policing
Pathways to Policing is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore a career in policing while gaining insight into the diverse perspectives and strengths that people from all backgrounds bring to the Service.
This event provides an opportunity for people from various communities considering a career in policing to learn about the application process, required skills and fitness standards through interactive activities.
Our Recruiting and Indigenous Relations teams are hosting our third annual Indigenous Pathways to Policing event at Calgary Police Service (CPS) Headquarters on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

The half-day event offers an opportunity for Indigenous people considering a career in policing to connect with officers, experience fitness standards firsthand and learn more about the skills and steps involved in joining the CPS.
This experience includes:
- A recruiting information session
- High-intensity fitness activities
- A meet and greet with the CPS Mounted Unit
Eligibility: Participants must be at least 18 years of age and First Nations, Metis, Urban Indigenous or Inuit.
Our Recruiting Team is hosting our second annual Pathways to Policing event for members of the African community at Calgary Police Service (CPS) Headquarters on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

The half-day event offers an opportunity for members of Calgary’s African community who are considering a career in policing to connect with officers, experience fitness standards firsthand and learn more about the skills and steps involved in joining the CPS.
This experience includes:
- A recruiting information session
- High intensity fitness activities
Eligibility: Participants must be at least 18 years of age and a member of the African community.
You will be asked to provide your date of birth to complete your registration so that the CPS can conduct a background check. All participants must undergo a background check to access restricted areas at CPS facilities.
